Your documents, read aloud in the right order.
Readorly works out the layout of every page, so two-column articles are read column by column and page numbers, headers and footnotes stay silent. In natural voices, on your phone, without internet.
Free on Android. No account needed.
Most readers get lost on real documents.
They jump between columns, read page numbers and footnotes out loud, and skip whole sections. Readorly reads the page the way you would.
Everything you need to listen, nothing you don't.
Natural voices, offline
Voices that sound like a person, made on your phone. Once downloaded, no internet needed.
The right reading order
Multi-column pages, headings and captions read in the order they are meant to be read.
No clutter read aloud
Page numbers, headers and footers left out. Footnotes skipped, or read if you want them.
Every document in its language
The language is detected for each document. Numbers, dates and abbreviations are read naturally.
Listen your way
Speed from 0.5× to 2×, skips by sentence or by 15 seconds, a sleep timer, and the sentence highlighted as it is read.
Keeps going in your pocket
Background playback and lock screen controls. It picks up where you left off.
Private by design
Your documents never leave your phone.
Text extraction and the natural voices both run on the device. Nothing you read is uploaded anywhere, and you don't need an account.
Questions, answered
Is Readorly free?
Yes. You can listen for up to 60 minutes a day for free. Premium removes the daily limit and the ads, and unlocks every natural voice.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. The natural voices download once through Google Play, right after you install the app. After that, everything works offline.
Which files can I open?
PDF and EPUB. Scanned PDFs that are only pictures of pages, with no text inside, can't be read yet.
Which languages can it read?
The natural voices read more than 30 languages, including English, Turkish, German, Spanish and French. For other languages, your phone's own voice can read.
Are my documents uploaded anywhere?
No. Text extraction and speech both happen on your phone. We never see your documents.
Can I hear footnotes and page numbers?
They are skipped by default so reading flows. You can turn them on for any document from its menu.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Readorly is on Android for now.
